The American Veteran Memorial pier also known as the 69th street pier is one of the most beautiful and relaxing places where one can go to and enjoy the warm sounds of splashing waves with a fresh breeze. For those of you who have already been there would know exactly how it feels to go to this place during a summer night and sit on the tables with your loved family and friends chatting, having lunch and enjoying the beautiful water view. Great views of the Verrazano bridge, the Statue of liberty and lower manhattan can also be seen from the pier. Considering those of you who like fishing or would want to try, this is the perfect place to go and grab some fish. Besides fishing, there's a long runway next to Belt Parkway that's also connected to the Pier where you can go running, skating or bike-riding with your partner or while listening to your favorite music. In addition to these fun activities that can be done, I would like to let you know that the ferry service is back... HOW EXCITING!! "The full trip will last approximately 43 minutes, with an average of 8.5 minutes between stops. Rides, like bus and subway trips, will cost $2.75", according to heyridge.com.
Hot summer days call for trips on the ferry with your loved ones where you can enjoy the water views while taking beautiful pictures and making unforgettable memories. With that being said, a similar place to the pier is the Coney Island Boardwalk which is located along the southern shore of the Coney Island peninsula. The major difference between the pier and the boardwalk is that it's longer and wider than the pier with a couple of benches to sit on and enjoy the beach view. These two relaxing places can also be visited during holidays like Memorial day or Fourth Of July where you can have a pleasant time with your friends and family celebrating and watching the fire works while eating ice-cream. The tables that exist in the pier can also be used for hosting birthday parties for your young ones where they can party and celebrate their big day with friends and family. The 69th street pier, the ferry and the Coney Island Boardwalk are wonderful outdoor spots to be visited during summer days and nights where you can make special memories with your loved ones.
