L Train Shoving Update: Suspect Arrested

The police have arrested a man who they say shoved a woman onto the train tracks at the Jefferson Street station on Thursday.

BROOKLYN, NY — Police have arrested a man they suspect shoved a woman onto the L train tracks at Jefferson Street station in Bushwick on Thursday morning.

Police say they think Shadrach Ford,30, was the man who asked a woman for a lighter before punching her and then pushing her onto the train tracks of the northbound L train.

She was rescued and was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center with lacerations and swelling in her left foot, police said. Her condition is stable, NYPD said.

As of Friday afternoon, Ford has been arrested on 10 charges, including attempted murder, harassment, reckless endangerment, assault, and trespassing, police said.
