Pedestrian, 73, Killed In Car Crash In Brooklyn: NYPD

The woman was crossing the street when she was hit by a man driving a Jeep.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 73-year-old woman was pronounced dead after a car crashed into her on Sunday evening in Midwood, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, Chana Layosh was crossing East 12th Street at the Avenue L intersection at 5:30 p.m. when a man driving a 2019 Jeep collided with her.

Layosh was transported to Maimonides Midwood Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead, and the driver stayed on the scene, police said.

No arrests have been made yet, and the investigation is ongoing, NYPD officials said.
