Armed Jaguar Driver Leads Police On High Speed Fort Greene Chase
Melquan Jackson jumped out of his Jaguar and raced through Fort Greene with police in pursuit.

FORT GREENE, BROOKLYN — A Jaguar driver armed with a high-capacity gun raced through the streets of Fort Greene, trying to escape police who pulled him over in Fort Greene Tuesday night, according to police and witnesses.
Police officers pulled over the black 2017 Jaguar on Carlton Avenue near Fulton street around 8 p.m. Tuesday night after the driver failed to signal, according to an NYPD spokesman.
The driver, Melquan Jackson, jumped out of the car and tried to escape, but was captured by police who found he carried a nine-millimeter handgun with a high-capacity magazine and a forged credit card, said police.

Jackson, 25, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, possession of a forged instrument, obstructing government administration, aggravated use of a motor vehicle and failure to obey police officers, according to police.

The four other men in the car — Jason Critchlow, 19, Michael Spearman, 18, Tyriek Dillard, 21, and Al Jamel Daniels, 19, — were each charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
Jackson has six prior arrests on charges of robbery, forgery, grand larceny, reckless endangerment, as well as numerous sealed arrests, said police.
