• Hepatitis Awareness Month in Broome County (binghamtonhomepage.com) — Broome County’s Health Department is urging residents to get tested, treated, and vaccinated for hepatitis during Hepatitis Awareness Month. Officials highlight how hepatitis A, B, and C spread, stress that adults 18 and older should be tested at least once, and remind you to contact your primary care provider to review vaccines and arrange a simple blood test.

• Experts Inspecting West Endicott Carousel For Needed Repairs (wnbf.com) — Carousel experts are in Broome County evaluating the aging West Endicott Park merry-go-round so it can hopefully reopen later this summer. The Town of Union has approved up to $24,000 for a detailed on-site assessment of its mechanisms, gears, and electrical system, following earlier restoration work on the Highland Park carousel in Endwell.
