14-Year-Old Charged With Murder For Brownsville Shooting: Police
Nathaniel Aaron stands accused of fatally shooting a 16-year-old in a Brownsville basketball court last month, police said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN β Police arrested the 14-year-old they believe shot and killed another teen in a Brownsville basketball court last month.
Nathaniel Aaron was charged with murder Wednesday night for shooting 16-year-old Timothy Oyebola in the head inside Chester Park at about 3:50 p.m. on Sept. 21, the NYPD said.
βHe was getting ready to shoot a three-point shot and thatβs when two bullets hit him,β his friend Jonathan Charles, 16, told the New York Times.

Marine Corps veteran Dominic Frankie Pabon, 23, raced out of his Brownsville home when he heard the gunshots, ran into the playground and tried to stop the bleeding, the Times reported.
"I said, βTimi donβt leave, donβt give up,'" Pabon told the Times. recalled of that day. βAnd he tried to respond with every breath he had left.β

Emergency responders rushed Oyebola to Brookdale Hospital where he later died, said police.
Aaron, who hails from Brownsville, was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and charged with murder, criminal use of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
