Brooklyn Boy Dies From Allergy To Fish Smell: Police, Report

Camron Jean-Pierre, 11, became sick as his family cooked dinner in their Canarsie home, according to police and reports.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- A Canarsie boy died from an allergic reaction to the smell of fish on New Year's Day, according to police and reports.

Camron Jean-Pierre, 11, became sick inside his home on East 82nd St. near Flatlands Avenue at about 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

Jean-Pierre's family, who knew he had a fish allergy, called 911 and connected him to a machine they hoped would revive him, the New York Post reported.

Emergency responders rushed the boy to Brookdale Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, said police.

The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death and investigation is ongoing, according to police.
