Jacquelyn Anderson Wideman has been collecting her father's Social Security payments since he died in 2002, prosecutors said.
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- A Brooklyn woman who stole $235,000 in Social Security benefits intended for her dead father now faces criminal charges, according to prosecutors.
Jacquelyn Anderson Wideman, 58, stands accused of withdrawing the Social Security cash from an HSBC account she shared with her father Willie "George Anderson" Simmons for 13 years after his death, the Brooklyn District Attorney's office said.
Wideman made monthly withdrawals between May 2002, when her father died, until May 2015 when the Social Security Administration discovered her dad was dead and cut off the payments, prosecutors said.
