Canarsie Woman Found Butchered In Nearby Park Identified: NYPD
Police said it was Brandy Odom, 26, who was found dead, and in pieces, in a Canarsie Park earlier this week.

CANARSIE, BROOKLYN — Police have identified the woman whose torso was found lying in a Brooklyn park with her limbs in bags nearby.
Brandy Odom, 26, has been identified as the woman found off a path in Canarsie Park near East 86th Street and Seaview Avenue at about 6:10 p.m. Monday evening, police said.
"R.i.p Brandy Odom," wrote friend Jason Savage on Facebook, hours after she had been named as the victim. "Educated, beautiful, and ambitious. I will always keep you in my heart chocolate."

Chocolate was the word police found tattooed on the victim's breast, which was later used to identify her, according to the Daily News. Odom's family heard about the tattoo and arrived at the 69th Precinct fearing the worst.
Her body was without arms and legs, which investigators believe — but could not confirm absolutely — they found in bags hidden in the park on Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Odom’s arms were cut off at the elbows, her legs were severed at the upper thigh and her face was bruised, a source told the Daily News.
Odom's family, elected officials and community members are expected to gather in Canarsie Park Thursday evening for a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m., said organizers from Women's Motivational Services.
Joseph Double-k Odom, a Georgia resident who said Odom was his great niece, took to Facebook to mourn his loss.
The Medical Examiner's office will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
Odom lived public housing less than a mile away from where her body was found, police said.
