NEW YORK CITY -- The East New York man found guilty of fatally strangling Queens jogger Karina Vetrano was not sentenced as scheduled Wednesday after his attorneys reported possible juror misconduct, according to reports.

Sentencing was delayed for Chanel Lewis β€” the 22-year-old man convicted earlier this month of murder and sex abuse for the Aug. 2, 2016 slaying in Howard Beach β€”after his Legal Aid attorneys filed a motion based on a juror's misconduct allegations, the New York Post reported.

The Queens District Attorney's office filed a response that includes affidavits from three jurors denying the claims, according to the New York Post.

Queens Supreme Court Justice Michael Aloise scheduled the hearing for Monday and, if the motion is denied, the sentencing will be held Tuesday, the Post reported.

Lewis has already faced two trials since he was first arrested in February 2017, six months after the Spring Creek Park attack. His first trial ended with a deadlocked jury in November after about a day and a half of deliberations.

Prosecutors presented the jury with a taped confession and DNA evidence, but defense attorneys argued the confession was coerced and the evidence was suspect.
