MTA Worker's Boyfriend Suspected Of Murdering Her In East New York, Police Said

Police are searching for Jacqueline Dicks' boyfriend Zire King, who they believe shot her to death Monday night.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — MTA worker Jacqueline Dicks' boyfriend is being treated as the main suspect in her death, police said.

Zire King, 44, was being hunted by the NYPD on Wednesday.

King originally told police he had driven Dicks to Elton Street, where he parked his car and the couple parted ways, the Daily News reported. When King heard a gunshot moments later, he turned and saw three men running away from his girlfriend's body, King told police.

But when police examined surveillance footage on the street, they discovered that King had lied — the video did not show three men running away and it did show King and Dicks having a conversation on the street, according to the Daily News report.

The discovery prompted police to search King's car where they found a .40-caliber handgun, Dicks' bag and her cellphone, according to the Daily News.

Kings disappeared after his interrogation and is now being sought by police, who describe him as a five-foot-nine man who weighs about 170 pounds.

Dicks, 41, the mother of six children, was shot Monday night on Elton Street, where a memorial service was held one day later. Dicks' brother Tyrone said he believed his sister had been targeted by her killer and pleaded for the shooter to turn himself in.

"Let yourself be known and accept your consequences," said Tyrone Dicks, 55. "Whoever you are, y'all were wrong."
