Alishia Noel-Murray took out $900,000 in life insurance then hired a hitman to kill Omar Murray in his Brownsville home, prosecutors said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A woman who insured her husband’s life for $900,000 then hired a hitman to kill him has been convicted of murder, prosecutors said.

A jury found Alishia Noel-Murray, 30, guilty of hiring a hitman to shoot Omar Murray, 37, in his Brownsville home at 204 Lott Ave. on Feb. 24, 2013, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.

Noel-Murray had already tried and failed to poison her husband when she asked her boyfriend, Dameon Lovell, 33, to hire a hitman for her, prosecutors said.

During the trial in Brooklyn supreme court, it came out that Noel-Murray had waited just a few days before attempting to cash out on the life insurance policies, prosecutors said.

Noel-Murray, who was seen chomping on gum at her husband’s funeral, was unable to convince a jury of her innocence during her testimony, according to prosecutors.

Noel-Murray was found guilty on Wednesday and will be sentenced June 29, court records show.

Portious, 29, is also being tried for murder and faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
