• Harckham Provides $200K Grant for a New, Energy-Efficient Heating System in Buchanan (riverjournalonline.com) — Buchanan's Village Hall now has a new energy-efficient natural gas heating system, largely funded by a $200,000 state grant secured by Senator Pete Harckham. Village officials say the upgrade replaces a decades-old oil boiler, boosts efficiency above 92%, and should cut fuel use and long-term costs for taxpayers while keeping key offices and the police department comfortable through winter.
