Tompkins Bank & Trust Announces West Seneca Branch, Expanding Western New York Presence

Tompkins Bank & Trust Announces West Seneca Branch, Expanding Western New York Presence

Expanding its commitment to serving clients and businesses throughout Western New York, Tompkins Bank & Trust announces its plans to open a new full-service branch in West Seneca in early 2027, marking the bank’s first location in the Southtowns.

The new branch, located at 1201 Union Road, represents the latest expansion in Tompkins’ continued growth in Western New York and establishes banking and finance hubs in both the Northtowns and Southtowns of Erie County. The new location comes as Tompkins continues to grow its relationships with customers and businesses throughout the region and bring its relationship-focused approach to the West Seneca community and surrounding areas.

“We’ve been very proud to serve clients and businesses in Erie County for many years, with a physical presence since the opening of our Amherst branch in 2018,” said Diane Torcello, president of Tompkins’ Western New York market. “The West Seneca branch will provide a new, convenient location for customers in the Southtowns so we’re able to deliver not only banking expertise, but a hyperlocal perspective and a commitment to understanding their goals and remaining invested in their success.”

As of August 27, 2026, the bank has received necessary regulatory approvals from New York State and is targeting an opening in the first quarter of 2027.

Tony Ando joins Tompkins to lead West Seneca branch

Longtime banking professional Tony Ando will lead the growth opportunities in the West Seneca branch, serving as business development officer. With more than 20 years of regional expertise and extensive experience working with West Seneca businesses and customers, including most recently at M&T, Ando is recognized for his community engagement and relationships that exceed business goals and drive success. Ando joins the Tompkins team and will work to develop new relationships and strengthen existing partnerships throughout Tompkins’ Western New York footprint, with a strong focus on the Southtowns. He is affiliated and volunteers with the West Seneca Chamber of Commerce and the West Seneca Central School Academy of Finance.

“The West Seneca community cares deeply about supporting local – whether that’s businesses, community initiatives, or fellow neighbors. Tompkins brings that community-centered approach paired with the expertise of a longstanding bank with a growing regional footprint,” said Ando. “I’m looking forward to taking that relationship-focused approach to banking and extending it beyond the walls of our branch.”

The new branch will serve both business and consumer banking customers, with an emphasis on supporting the needs of the region’s growing business community. Additional details regarding the branch, its team, employment opportunities and opening celebrations will be announced in the coming months.
