Bushwick Teen Shot Dead Near Home, Police Say

BUSHWICK, NY — A 19-year-old Bushwick man was shot dead near his home Saturday night, police said. Police were called to the corner of Weirfield Street and Bushwick Avenue around 9 p.m. Saturday for an assault, the NYPD said.

There they found Devontee Howai Cameron — whose address was about a block away — with a gunshot wound to his chest, police said.

Cameron was rushed to Wyckoff Hospital where he was pronounced dead, the NYPD said.

Police had not announced any arrests in the case as of Sunday evening.
