Man Who Forced Brooklyn Teens Into Prostitution Sentenced To Prison, DA Says

Terrence Rogers, 35, of Bushwick, pleaded guilty for his role in sex trafficking three teenage girls, authorities said.

BROOKLYN, NY — A man from Bushwick pleaded guilty to running a sex-trafficking scheme that forced multiple victims, including three teenage girls ages 15 to 17, into prostitution, securing him nearly 10 years behind bars, prosecutors said.

Terrence Rogers, 35, of Bushwick, was sentenced Wednesday in Brooklyn Supreme Court to eight years in prison and five years' post-release supervision for sex trafficking a child, to which he pleaded guilty on Dec. 3, 2025.

Prosecutors allege Rogers recruited a 15-year-old girl into the sex-trafficking scheme, bringing her to his Halsey Street apartment in Bushwick on multiple occasions for paid sexual encounters. She had been introduced to him by a classmate, also 15, who was already working for Rogers in prostitution.

“The exploitation of our most vulnerable populations for profit is among the most disturbing crimes we prosecute, and the harm inflicted on survivors of trafficking and sexual violence is profound and lasting," Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said.

Prosecutors say Rogers posted the 15-year-old's photo on escort websites, gave her a cellphone, and coached her on communicating with clients and setting rates. He raped her at his Bushwick apartment on April 12, 2024.

More than a month later, he messaged her on Snapchat, threatening to post her nude photo online unless she resumed prostitution. When she returned, he published the image anyway and forcibly touched her, prosecutors said.

On June 13, the victim reported the assault to a school social worker, who alerted police and triggered a joint investigation by the Brooklyn DA's Human Trafficking Unit and NYPD. On July 3, an undercover officer responded to Rogers' online ad—featuring images of underage victims—called the listed number, and was directed to his Halsey Street apartment. There, the officer arranged to pay $100 for sex with a 22-year-old woman, signaling the raid team, police said.

As police moved in, Rogers emerged from the bathroom with a partially nude 17-year-old victim. Officers arrested him on the scene and found six other victims engaged in prostitution at the apartment.

Rogers was initially charged with multiple counts of sex trafficking of a child; second-, third-, and fourth-degree promoting prostitution; third-degree rape; third-degree sexual abuse; sexual misconduct; endangering the welfare of a child; and unlawful dissemination or publication of an intimate image.

He must register as a sex offender upon his release from prison, prosecutors said.
