Burglar Smashes His Way Into Bushwick Cafe, Cops Say
Police are looking for the man who shattered Bunna Café's front door and robbed the till.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN -- A Brooklyn burglar shattered a vegan Ethiopian cafe's glass door and robbed its till on New Year's Day, police said.
The suspect threw a heavy object threw the front door of Bunna Café on Flushing and Porter avenues at about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, said police.
The thief grabbed $422 from the cash register and ran away, police said.

Bunna Cafe was the subject of a 2017 New Yorker feature that described the vegan eatery as "Rightly, loved."
"It’s one of those vegan restaurants where the absence of meat and dairy isn’t obvious while you’re there," contributor Nicolas Niarchos wrote. "But when you venture out the door your step has a new spring in it."

Police are now looking for a man in his late 20s who wore Nike Air Force One Foamposite sneakers.
