Mugger Shoves Woman Down Subway Stairs, Steals $2K Necklace: NYPD

A man is wanted for mugging four people in the Myrtle Avenue and Kosciuszko Street J train stations in October, police said.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for the serial J train mugger who pulls chains off people’s necks and shoved a woman down a flight of stairs.

The thief pushed a 31-year-old woman down the DeKalb Avenue stairs in a failed attempt to rip off her necklace on Oct. 12 around 12:15 p.m., police said.

The mugger tried again on Oct. 23 around 10:25 a.m., when he failed to pull the chain of a 48-year-old woman on the Kosciuszko Street station mezzanine, said police.

He later grabbed a cellphone out of a 67-year-old woman’s hands as she sat in a southbound J train at the Myrtle Avenue station on Oct. 27 around 11:05 a.m., said police.

Most recently, the suspect pulled a $2,000 chain off the neck of a 22-year-old man inside the Myrtle Avenue station on Oct. 28 around 10:05 p.m.

Police describe the suspect as a 5-foot-8 tall man weighing about 165 pounds wearing all dark clothing.
