NYC City Council Election District 37 Results
Bushwick and Cypress Hills took to the polls Tuesday. Here's what you need to know.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK — New Yorkers took to the polls on Tuesday in the general election for citywide positions including mayor, comptroller and public advocate.
Bushwick and Cypress Hills residents also chose which city council candidate should represent them next year. In District 37 — check out the full district map here — incumbent Rafael Espinal declared victory in the race against Persephone Sarah Jane Smith of the Green Party.
Democrat Bill de Blasio won the mayoral race against Republican Nicole Malliotakis and independents Bo Dietl and Sal Albanese.

The question of a New York State constitutional convention was also on the ballot and rejected by state voters.
Public Advocate Tish James won the race against Republican Juan Carlos Polanco, Michael O'Reilly and James Lane.
