Pair Steals $3K From Brooklyn Delis In Two Weeks, Police Say

Police are looking for the man and woman who held up eight small businesses in Bushwick, Bed-Stuy and Brownsville in the past two weeks.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Police are hunting for a gun-toting couple who have held up eight Brooklyn delis and restaurants in the past two weeks and made off with more than $3,290 in cash.

The man and woman first barged into EBC Deli on Broadway near DeKalb Avenue on Monday, July 17, around 2:20 a.m., then pulled out a gun and stole cash from the register and a 66-year-old man, police said.

The man next hit a deli near New Lots and Shepherd avenues on Tuesday, July 18, around 11:15 p.m. when he pulled out a gun and grabbed $700 from the register and a cellphone, said police.

The next day, Wednesday, July 19, he pulled out a gun in a convenience store on Broadway and Gates Avenue and stole $700 before fleeing at about 1:40 a.m., police said.

Last Thursday, the man and woman held up the clerk of a 7-Eleven at 1239 Fulton St. at about 11 p.m. and made off with $260 in cash from the register, police said.

The man went solo again last Friday and stole $31 from a person entering a Fulton Street grocery store near Kingston Avenue around 12:45 p.m., said police.

The following week, he burst into a Crown Fried Chicken at 235 Ralph Ave. on Saturday, July 22, around 9:50 p.m. and stole $1,000 in a brown paper bag, then stole $30 from a grocery store at 221 Ralph Ave. on Monday around 9:50 p.m., and finally grabbed $600 from the register at Fares Deli at 2484 Pitkin Ave. on Wednesday around 1:40 a.m, said police.

Police released images of the two suspects Friday, whom they describe as a man and woman in their twenties. The woman stands about five-foot-six, weighs about 135 pounds and was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a black long-sleeved sweatshirt, black jeans, black sneakers and carrying a black purse.

The man stands about five-foot-eight, weighs about 160 pounds and was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a white long-sleeved sweater with a hood, black pants and black sneakers, said police.
