Secret Project Robot Announces New Venue On Broadway
The DIY, artist-run venue will reopen in a new space at 1186 Broadway on May 4, organizers announced on Facebook.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — Secret Project Robot will host a big party in May to celebrate the grand opening of a new space on Broadway, organizers announced on Facebook.
Secret Project Robot — the artist-run DIY venue that shuttered its doors eight months ago — will reopen at 1186 Broadway with a big party on May 4th, organizers said.
“After months of careful consideration and philosophizing over the uncertainty of the future of artist run spaces in New York City,” organizers wrote on Facebook, “the founders and their new artist partners and co-conspirators decided that the DIY cultural heritage of New York is too important to let be obliterated by cynicism and rising rents.”

Organizers are hoping to achieve a “house party” atmosphere in the 2500-square-foot converted warehouse — which boasts a bar, patio, sculpture garden and decor designed by Kayrock Screenprinting and Nick Kuszyk — which will be open seven days a week.
