Teen Killed, Another Wounded In Bushwick Shooting, Police Say
Seventeen-year-old Kieth Kyser was shot to death on the corner of Broadway and Jefferson Street early Friday morning, said police.

BUSHWICK, BROOKLYN — One teenager is dead and another wounded after a shooting on Broadway early Friday morning, according to police.
Kieth Kyser, 17, was shot dead and a 14-year-old boy was shot outside a deli on Broadway and Jefferson Street in Bushwick around 1:50 a.m. Friday, police said.

“People were hysterical, crying,” Lewis told a Daily News reporter. “It sounded really horrible.”
Kyser was shot in the chest and leg and his cousin got a bullet in the thigh, said police.
The cousins were rushed to Kings County Hospital but Kyser could not be saved, said police.
Police brought a suspect in for questioning on Friday afternoon but had not made any arrests as of 2:30 p.m.
Kyser’s sister, who did not giver her name, told DNAinfo New York that Kieth was a genuinely warm and funny person whom it was impossible to dislike.
“Argue with him one hour, the next hour y'all was back friends,” she said. “You couldn't stay mad at him.”
Kyser and his cousin were shot one day after the Brooklyn District Attorney's office announced 12 gang members had been indicted for inciting violence on Bushwick streets.
