1. Canton Pavilion Riley Room fundraiser underway (northcountrynow.com) — Canton’s Friends of Bend in the River are leading a major renovation of the Riley Community Room in the village Recreation Pavilion, aiming to create a year-round space for youth, families, and seniors. With support from the Northern New York Community Foundation and the village, organizers are now asking Canton residents and regional businesses to donate toward new flooring, lighting, bathrooms, and improved acoustics.
   

2. A St. Lawrence U. degree 33 years later: what it's like to go to school as an adult (northcountrypublicradio.org) — A 55-year-old St. Lawrence University student living near Canton is finally finishing the bachelor’s degree he began in 1989, after moving to Pyrites for a full-time spring semester. He shares what it’s like returning to SLU classrooms alongside Gen Z students, how campus life in Canton has reshaped his view of learning, and why he hopes other North Country adults consider going back to school.
   

3. New teacher joins Little River Community School's staff (northcountrynow.com) — A new K–2 “Youngers” teacher, Calli Ellis, who lives in a farmhouse in Canton, is joining the staff at Little River Community School. With decades of experience in counseling and early childhood education, she’ll focus on building strong foundations for the school’s youngest students.
