• Filiatrault named SUNY Canton's new Athletic Communications Assistant (northcountrynow.com) — A Canton native, Jack Filiatrault, has been hired as SUNY Canton’s new Athletic Communications Assistant, bringing recent experience from SUNY Cortland and Binghamton University back to his hometown. He’ll handle stats, media content, and promotion for SUNY Canton athletics while continuing his sport management master’s studies. Local sports fans can expect expanded coverage of Roos teams.

• Bernard Melbern Rodee, 92, formerly of Canton (northcountrynow.com) — Canton is remembering Bernard Melbern Rodee, a sixth-generation native whose life spanned farming on the family homestead, Air Force service, and a long agribusiness career. Family and friends are invited to funeral services August 15 at Brick Chapel Church and Cemetery in Canton, with a luncheon at the Rodee farm. Memorial donations can be made to Shriner’s Hospital or Brick Chapel Cemetery Association.
