The Brewster Theater Company will stage a unique production of the timeless classic, A CHRISTMAS CAROL: A LIVE RADIO PLAY. Tickets are available online at www.brewstertheater.org and at the door, although reservations are strongly recommended.
The show is a live radio play production of A Christmas Carol, adapted from Charles Dickens' classic story of Ebenezer Scrooge for a radio audience. It recreates the experience of a 1940s broadcast with actors playing multiple roles, live music, and Foley sound effects. The listener is immersed in the festive or eerie atmosphere of the tale through audio alone as they follow Scrooge's magical journey with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come
A CHRISTMAS CAROL: A LIVE RADIO PLAY is directed by Judy Brewster of Southeast and produced by Stacey Cohen, of White Plains. George Opfer of Yorktown Heights is the stage manager, with set design by Ben Kistinger of Carmel, NY. .
“Our production has all the elements of a warm Christmas gathering, from carolers singing, to hot cocoa and cookies, and the telling of the holiday classic, A Christmas Carol. What makes this so special is the talents of this wonderful cast and a story set in a 1940’s radio station! The audience will be our “studio audience,” and will be in for a real theatrical treat!”
The large ensemble production includes performers and crew from Putnam, Westchester, Dutchess and Rockland counties, as well as nearby CT. A CHRISTMAS CAROL: A LIVE RADIO PLAY is adapted by Joe Landry with music by Kevin Connors. It is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts. (www.playscripts.com)
