This three part workshop offers an introduction to the foundations of a mindfulness practice. We define mindfulness as an active meditation using the breath and body to heal from within. These techniques allow students to enter into a meditation practice without the anxiety and discomforts that often arise in a traditional, more restrictive, seated position. This practice can also bring students deeper by learning to use their own bodies as a resting place for the mind. Each week, students will receive handouts as a guide for continuing the practice on their own.
