'Jaws Of Life' Used to Rescue Driver After Crash: FD

Three were rushed to the hospital after the crash Friday morning, officials say.

EAST MORICHES, NY — The "Jaws of Life" were used Friday morning to rescue a driver trapped in his truck after a crash, firefighters said.

According to the Center Moriches Fire Department, firefighters and EMTs responded to Jerusalem Hollow Road between Moriches Middle Island Road and the Sunrise Highway South Service Road at 7:16 a.m. Friday, where they found a pickup truck crashed into a tree with the driver trapped inside. Firefighters cut the driver's side of the vehicle away, freeing the driver, officials said.

Three individuals in the truck were transported by paramedics to a local hospital for further evaluation of non-life threatening injuries, firefighters said.
