Man Dies After Eastport Crash: Police
The crash took place Wednesday night in Eastport, police say.
EASTPORT, NY — Anthony Ricci, an East Moriches man who critically injured in an Eastport crash Wednesday night, has died, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, the crash took place on East Moriches-Riverhead Road, at the intersection of County Road 111, at 5:56 p.m. Ricci, 60, was driving a 2019 Honda Accord northbound on East Moriches-Riverhead Road when he attempted to turn left onto the westbound lanes of County Road 111 and crossed in front of a 2013 Honda Accord traveling southbound, striking the vehicle at 5:56 p.m., police said.
Ricci was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, where he later died, police said. His passenger, Frances Ricci, 60, of East Moriches, was also taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the 2013 Honda, Sean Schilling, 46, of Islip Terrace, was taken to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, police said.
