Man Stole $1,600 From LI Gas Station: Cops

EASTPORT, NY — The search is on for a man who stole $1,600 from an Eastport gas station, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate the man who stole the money from behind the counter at Mobil Gas Station, located at 520 Montauk Highway in Eastport, at 1:50 p.m. on April 14, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the incidents can contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS, texting “SCPD” and a message to “CRIMES” (274637) or by emailing www.tipsubmit.com. All calls, text messages and emails will be kept confidential.
