Maria Harber of Eastport recently took her talents to Oyster Bay for the Runner’s Edge TOBAY Triathlon and Tri-Relay presented by Engel Burman where she placed second in the 50-54 female age group.
On an overcast morning with periods of rain, more than 350 competitors tested their strength and endurance on the Long Island course, which was managed by the Greater Long Island Road Running Club. The competition included a ½ mile swim in Oyster Bay Harbor, a 12.3K hilly bike ride through Oyster Bay and Oyster Bay Cove, and a 5K run past Mill Neck and Brookville.
Harber, 51, completed the triathlon in 1:17:34, earning a trophy in the female 50-54 age division, which consisted of 12 total athletes. Full results from the triathlon can be viewed here.
