• 4 people rescued after boat hits sandbar near Moriches Inlet (news12.com) — Local firefighters from Center Moriches helped rescue four people after their boat hit a sandbar near Moriches Inlet early Sunday morning. A joint marine response team and the U.S. Coast Guard assisted, and a Center Moriches rescue swimmer reached the stranded group. Three passengers were brought off the boat as weather worsened, and no injuries were reported. 
• Man seriously injured after being struck by car on the LIE in Melville (tbrnewsmedia.com) — A 27-year-old Center Moriches resident was seriously injured after exiting his car on the Long Island Expressway in Melville and being struck by another vehicle early Sunday. Police say the other driver and his passenger were later found with narcotics and now face multiple drug and impaired-driving charges, with arraignments scheduled in Central Islip.
