Tractor-Trailer Overturns After Crashing Into Overpass

CENTER MORICHES, NY — A driver was hospitalized after a tractor-trailer crashed into an overpass in Moriches Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct officers responded to the crash on Main Street; a semi-truck struck an overpass and overturned in front of 730 Main Street at 3:30 p.m., police said.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue, police said.

Many people took to social media to note that the spot has been the scene of previous crashes.
