What: "[Afro Flow Yoga" instructor Pilin Anice will guide students through natural movements to free the mind and body from stress, and reveal the connection between spirituality, human beings and the natural elements. During the workshop students will affirm their purpose, flow into intentions and align with vision."
Where: The Hans Christian Andersen statue (East 74th Street and Fifth Avenue)
When: Saturday, Aug. 19, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
What: "Since 1957, on Saturdays during the summer, New York City´s children have clustered around Hans Christian Andersen's statue near Conservatory Pond in Central Park to hear his and others' fairytales, folk stories, and stories, told by a dedicated group of professional storytellers."
Where: Merchant's Gate (Columbus Circle park entrance)
When: Saturday, Aug. 19, from 2-3:30 p.m.
What: "Explore the southwest of Central Park with Central Park Conservancy tour guides, and see it like never before. From a planned military parade ground to the site commemorating a famous activist for peace, one of the most-visited areas of the Park has some secrets to share with even the most seasoned Park-goer!"
Harlem Meer Performance Festival: Dr. Mambo and the Experience Ensemble
Where: Charles A. Dana Discovery Center (110th street between Lenox and Fifth avenues)
When: Sunday, Aug. 20, from 2-4 p.m.
What: "Dr. Mambo and the Experience Ensemble is a Caribbean jazz band with an international mindset. Expect to hear African-Caribbean jazz music featuring rhythms from around the world. The 24th annual Harlem Meer Performance Festival brings the best local talent in music and dance to Central Park! Enjoy jazz, Latin, world, and gospel music while admiring the lakeside views. All ages are welcome."
