Man Threatened With Gun In Central Park, Police Say

A 22-year-old man walking in the southeast corner of the park was robbed and threatened with a gun Monday.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — A man was threatened with a gun Monday during a broad daylight robbery in Central Park, police told Patch.

A 22-year-old man was reading in the southeast corner of the park, near East Drive and East 60th Street, when he was approached from behind by an unidentified suspect, police said. The suspect told the 22-year-old that he had a gun and demanded that the man hand over his valuables, police told Patch.

The victim gave the robber approximately $10, police said. The robber then fled the park, exiting at East 102nd Street and Fifth Avenue, police told Patch.

Police said the suspect (pictured above) is approximately 14 or 15 years old and was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweater, dark colored jeans and black sneakers.
