Rescued Owl Released In Central Park, Report Says

The long-eared owl was injured after flying into a Midtown Manhattan building.

CENTRAL PARK, NY — An Owl that was rescued after crashing into a Midtown Manhattan building was released in Central Park, the Associated Press first reported.

Two pest control workers discovered the injured owl on a 14th floor setback while on call last week, the AP reported. The workers covered the Long-eared owl in a fleece jacket before carrying it to the Wild Bird Fund via the subway,

The Wild Bird Fund – a nonprofit that cares for injured wildlife in the city – rehabbed the owl for a few days before releasing it into Central Park on Monday, the AP reported.
