WATCH: Crowds Descend on Central Park to Catch Rare Pokémon Vaporeon
Hundreds of Pokémon Go players can be seen walking toward the same spot in Central Park.

There's no doubting the popularity of Pokémon Go, and the augmented reality game is now reportedly the most popular mobile game in the history of mobile gaming. The game's appeal is explained in one simple video that shows hordes of people descending upon an area in Central Park in an attempt to catch rare Pokémon, "Vaporeon." Some can be seen running to the area where the elusive Pokémon has been spotted while others walk in unison with their phones pointing toward the sky to capture the creature.
The video was recorded Friday and uploaded to Vimeo.
"What happens when hundreds of people are gathered at the edge of Central Park to play Pokémon Go at 11pm'ish and a Vaporeon shows up in the park? Well....this!" the user who uploaded the video wrote. "I didn't catch the front of the pack that was sprinting into the park like a herd of wildebeest. Special shout out to the guy at the start of the video that jumped out of his car, left the engine running, and darted off to claim the grand prize."
