MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the recent events to which Westchester County Police responded in the village.
Friday, Aug. 18 – 2:57 p.m. – A village resident reported to Westchester County Police that she had
received a threatening text message from her estranged husband.
2:13 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Northern Westchester Hospital Center to assist
Yorktown Police with an emotionally disturbed person they were transporting to the hospital.
Thursday, Aug. 17 – 8:37 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Hyatt Avenue on a report that
a 4-year-old had gone missing from the house. Upon arrival, relatives of the boy told officers that they
had since determined that the boy’s father had apparently taken the child with him to St. Francis of
Assisi Church on Main Street without telling anyone in the house he was doing so. An officer went to
the church and verified that the boy was there with his dad.

Wednesday, Aug. 16 – 6:29 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to the 500 block of Lexington
Avenue on a report that two dogs had been left alone inside a vehicle. When an officer arrived, the
vehicle owner was present and walking the two dogs on a leash. The woman said she had briefly gone
into a restaurant to place a takeout order.
11:50 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Barker Street after a woman reported finding a
lost dog. An officer was able to reunite the dog with its owner on Carpenter Avenue.
12:50 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Spencer Street after a resident reported that
someone with a flashlight was in her neighbor’s backyard. It was determined that the light was coming
from a motion-sensor light that the neighbor had installed and was possibly tripped by an animal.
Monday, Aug. 14 – 5:52 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Spring Street on a report that a
man had removed a manhole cover in the street. Officers located a private contractor who said he was
working on a plumbing problem at a nearby residence. The contractor was told to put the manhole cover
back in place and to contact the village to get formal permission to access the sewer.
2:02 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Stop N Shop on North Bedford Road on a report of
an attempted larceny of beer. A store employee reported that two men left the store without paying for
nine 12-packs of beer valued at $180. The female employee confronted the pair and retrieved the beer.
The men drove off in a yellow SUV. A license plate was obtained and the investigation is continuing.
