2 K-9 Busts; Stolen Car; Found iPad and more: Police Blotter

These are some of the recent incidents to which Westchester County police responded in Mount Kisco.

Friday, Oct. 2 – 11:59 p.m. – Westchester County police responded to a residence on Maple Avenue on a report that two men were involved in an altercation. Officers determined that an argument had occurred between two roommates but the dispute was verbal only and no police action was required.

Wednesday, Sept. 30 – 5:14 p.m. – A woman found an iPad and its carrying case in the parking lot at 639 Main Street and brought the items to the Westchester County Police precinct on Green Street. Officers have been unable to determine who the owner is. The items are being held by the county police Property Control Unit in Hawthorne for safekeeping.

3:10 p.m. – Michael Rivera, 24, of Valley Cottage was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th Degree, a misdemeanor, following a traffic stop at Valley View Terrace and Knowlton Avenue. After Officer Dave Sanchez detected an odor of marijuana inside the vehicle, he deployed his narcotics detection canine partner Sal, who indicated on the presence of marijuana inside a backpack on the front passenger seat. Numerous small plastic bags containing marijuana were found inside the backpack and Rivera was taken into custody. He is due to appear in Mount Kisco Justice Court on Nov. 8.

Tuesday, Sept. 29 – 12:17 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Northern Westchester Hospital Center on a report that a prescription pad was missing and possibly stolen from an employee’s desk.

Monday, Sept. 28 – 6:39 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Lexington Avenue after a man called to say he was involved in an argument with his roommate. After interviewing the roommates, officers advised them that the nature of their dispute was a civil matter, not a police matter.

Sunday, Sept. 27 – 7:30 p.m. – Two Mount Kisco men were arrested and a stolen car was recovered following a traffic stop on North Bedford Road. Taylor Gomez-Milian, 18, the driver, and Douglas Soto Gomez, 20, his passenger, both of West Street, were each charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree, a felony.

Westchester County Police Officer David Dirienzo was on patrol at Main Street and Dakin Avenue when he was passed by a 2006 Chevy Cobalt with Pennsylvania license plates. The license plate reader attached to his vehicle indicated that the car had been reported stolen the previous day in Phoenixville, Pa. Dirienzo pulled the car over on North Bedford Road, where he and other officers took the two men into custody.

Friday, Sept. 25 – 9:58 p.m. – Shane Millner, 24, of Barker Street, Mount Kisco, was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th Degree and Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, misdemeanors, following a traffic stop on Main Street. Westchester County Police Officer Dave Sanchez was on patrol when he observed a car fail to yield as it entered Main Street from South Bedford Road. After stopping the vehicle a few blocks away, Sanchez detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the car. Millner was taken into custody after he failed a field sobriety test. Sanchez’ canine partner, narcotics detective canine Sal, was utilized during a search and impound of the vehicle. Sal indicated on the presence of marijuana in a plastic bag found under the front seat and in another bag hidden under the spare tire in the trunk. In total, 135.5 milligrams of marijuana were seized. Millner was released on $250 bail and is due to appear Oct. 1 in Mount Kisco Justice Court.
