$3K To Social Security Phone Scam: Police Blotter Mount Kisco

Disorderly conduct; disruptive youths on bicycles; suspected gas leak and more

Here are some of the recent incidents to which the Westchester County police responded in Mount Kisco.

Friday, June 7 – 2:43 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to a business in the 300 block of East Main Street on an activated burglar alarm. The premises were found to be secure.

10:46 a.m. – A 28-year-old woman told Westchester County Police that she had been scammed out of $3,000 by a caller who told her he was from the Social Security Administration. The woman followed the man’s instructions to purchase gift cards and provide the related card numbers. She contacted police after she realized she had been the victim of fraud.

Thursday, June 6 – 5:43 p.m. – A resident of Spring Street reported that he car was damaged by a hit-and-run driver while it was parked in front of her home.

Wednesday, June 5 – 6:02 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Highland Avenue on a report that a 55-year-old woman was feeling dizzy and needed assistance. She was taken by Westchester EMS to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.

Tuesday, June 4 – 6:54 p.m. – An officer on patrol on Carpenter Avenue observed a man walking in the street, yelling obscenities and obstructing traffic. The man, who had no identification, was taken into custody. After being identified at the Green Street precinct, the 39-year-old village resident was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and released pending a future court appearance.

11:54 p.m. -- – The owner of a business on East Main Street reported to Westchester County Police that she had been harassed by a customer and had directed the customer to stay out of the store in the future. She asked for officers to document the issue in the event the person returns and she chooses to press charges.

Monday, June 3 – 5:31 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to East Main Street near the Mount Kisco Diner on a report that youths on bicycles were disrupting traffic. The youths were gone upon an officer’s arrival.

8:37 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Parkview Place to assist an 80-year-old man who was feeling ill. He was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.

6:38 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Woodcrest Lane when a resident reported that she was hearing a hissing sound in her home and feared there was a gas leak. The Mount Kisco Fire Department also responded and determined there was no gas leak.
