NEW CASTLE, NY — The New Castle Historical Society has announced that it's "full steam ahead" for The Great Holiday Train Show at the Horace Greeley House Museum.

The exhibit starts Saturday and will run through Jan. 9.

The expansive display in motion will feature vintage train sets running throughout the festively decorated rooms of the historic Horace Greeley House for the holidays. One of the model trains is more than a century old.

Organizers said the heirloom display items are curated to create an experience that is as exciting for the kids as it is for grownups. The scale-model train will travel through backdrops with holiday themes, including a Bavarian countryside scene, the 1920s golden age of train travel, the sophistication of New York City heady days as a shockingly busy rail hub and even a Jesse James Gang-themed homage to the steam engine helping to tame the wild west.
