Bet Torah Nursery School Visits Blooming Hill Farm 

(Mt. Kisco, NY)  During the Passover spring break, Bet Torah Nursery School hosted preschool students and their families at three field trips during the week of April 9.  Children visited the Greenburgh Nature Center and were treated to a “Meet the Animals Program.”  Families later toured the outdoor grounds and shared a Passover picnic lunch. 

Fifty students and parents also spent a morning at Clearview Cinemas in Mt. Kisco enjoying kosher for Passover snacks and watching Shalom Sesame: Grover loves Passover and Follow That Bird. 

On Thursday, April 12 nursery school families traveled to visit Guy Jones at his Blooming Hill Farm.  Blooming Hill Farm  delivers the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) produce weekly to Bet Torah and CSA share holders from May through October.  Children and parents had an opportunity to truly experience the farm to table cycle, helping Guy plant cabbage in the fields and touring the grounds and greenhouse.

 Last month, Guy visited Bet Torah Nursery School and demonstrated the planting of peas and sunflowers. Each child took home, soil, seeds and a new found appreciation for farmers and their work.   He is also helping advise the Nursery School in their newest addition, the Bet Torah Nursery School Vegetable Garden.
