Asleep in the Center Lane — in his Car

Still running and in drive, just north of Millwood on the Taconic Parkway

NEW CASTLE, NY — A Spring Valley man was found asleep in his car on the Taconic Parkway Jan. 6 — in the middle lane.

A snow plow operator working on the northbound side of the parkway found the car at about 3:43 a.m. just north of the Millwood exit. The man was asleep inside it. He called the cops.

The car was running and in drive. He was still sleeping when state police arrived. A welfare check revealed that he was intoxicated, police said.
