Auntie Penny To Close

The store has been in downtown Chappaqua for more than 30 years.

The lease is up and business is down, so Auntie Penny is closing its doors.

Eve Spence, a Yorktown resident who is one of the store’s co-owners, told Chappaqua Daily Voice reporter Tom Auchterlonie that the store’s closing sale will include fundraising for a Make-A-Wish Foundation program.

Spence and Linda DeMase had bought and re-opened the store in 2010, inverting its name and stocking it with a hodgepodge of items for children of all ages, ranging from games to candy.
