Beth Davidson Endorsed for Congress by Former Westchester County Legislator Kitley Covill

Beth Davidson’s campaign for Congress in New York’s 17th District has been endorsed by former Westchester County Legislator Kitley Covill, joining over 260 leaders across the district backing the leading candidate in the Democratic primary race against incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Lawler.

"I am endorsing Beth Davidson because she is the strongest candidate, with her deep roots in Rockland County, and a firm commitment to representing all of us,"said Covill, adding, "she is a very hard worker who gets things done."

"I'm so proud and thrilled to have former Westchester County legislator Kitley Covill's endorsement," said Beth Davidson. "Kitley has been an important friend and mentor and I'm so grateful for her support in the fight to flip NY17 and deliver results for our communities," she added.

Davidson, a former Nyack School Board vice president and current Rockland County legislator , is the only candidate in the NY-17 Democratic congressional primary who has won previous election campaigns against Republicans and holds public legislative office. As a local elected official, Davidson has worked on issues from gun safety to clean water, open-space preservation, affordable healthcare and tax relief. A cancer survivor and IVF mom, she and her husband, Jeff, moved 20 years ago to Nyack, where they are raising their two children.

New York’s 17th Congressional District includes all of Rockland and Putnam Counties, northern Westchester County, and part of Dutchess County.
