Ceremony To Swear In New New Castle Officials

The third-highest vote getter in November's election has been named to fill out the new town supervisor's unexpired term on the town board.

CHAPPAQUA, NY — The public is invited to the swearing-in ceremony for town officers. New officials taking the oath of office are New Castle Town Supervisor Ivy Pool and council members Jason Lichtenthal and Lauren Levin.

Also sworn in will be Deputy Town Supervisor Jeremy Saland, who was the only member of the board to seek re-election, and Town Justice Douglas Kraus.

Levin, who ran for election with the Team New Castle slate opposed to Pool, Saland and Lichtenthal, was the third-highest vote getter in the November election. Saland told The Examiner News in November that the three members of the Democratic slate supported naming the third-place finisher to the vacant seat. She will serve this year. There will be an election in November to fill the unexpired year of Pool's term.
