Chappaqua and Mount Kisco teams Heat Up with Weather at Counties
Isabella Weiner of Chappaqua Swim and Tennis won the 12-and-under 50-yard breaststroke.

On a hot and humid day that was perfect for getting into the pool to cool off, swimmers from Chappaqua and Mount Kisco did anything but that.
The five participating teams from Chappaqua and Mount Kisco continued to compete on day three of the Westchester County Swimming Association's annual championships.
At the end of day three, the top area teams were still CS&T, - which dropped from sixth place to ninth with a combined team score of 84 points - and Birchwood, which stayed in seventh place with 90 points.

Willowbrook finds itself now tied for 19th place with 43 points, while Mount Kisco Memorial is still in 24th, with 22 points. Mount Kisco Country Club came up with no points for the third day in a row. The overall leader continues to be Lake Isle, which now has 178 points.
The best performance of the day from swimmers in the Chappaqua area came from CS&T's Isabella Weiner, as she took first place in the 12-and-under 50-yard breaststroke for girls. She came within less than a second of setting a meet record that has been standing since 1991.

Weiner talked about how she felt before the race and after when she realized that she had won.
"It went really well. I was pretty nervous before the start, but I just gave it my all and it felt great [to win]," she said.
Her coach, Dan Levy, talked about Weiner's performance and the confidence he had in her going into the race.
"Isabella has been like a machine this year: very intense, very focused and has done very well in all her races," he said. "We knew that she had it in her to do this and she proved us right in that race."
Mount Kisco Memorial's Erin Boddie finished fifth in the girls 12-and-under 50-yard breaststroke and was the only member of her team to reach the finals on day three.
In the 10-and-under girls 50-yard backstroke, Birchwood's Cate Sawkins once again finished in first place, coming within one second of the meet record. In the same race CS&T swimmer Gaige Elms finished in sixth, four seconds behind Sawkins.
Willowbrook had a strong Wednesday showing as well. In the girls 17-and-under 100-yard free style, Bridget Doherty finished fifth, two seconds from first place, and in the 14-and-under 100-freestyle, as Sarah Schattschneider finished in sixth. Willowbrook was also the only club in the area to place in any of the relay races. It finished in sixth place in the boys 17-and-under 200 yard medley relay.
Alex Smith, Tyler Hill and Genna McLaughlin of Birchwood all provided another good showing for their team.
In the boys 14-and-under 100-yard butterfly, Smith finished in fifth place two seconds off the pace. Hill placed sixth in the boys 10-and-under backstroke, three seconds behind the winner. McLaughlin finished in fifth place in the girls 13-and-under 200-yard individual medley.
