Chappaqua DAR Donates 217 Books to Ossining School District
Members of Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR Continue Literacy Promotion Initiatives for Area Youth

(Ossining, NY) Members of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR recently donated 217 books to a classroom in the Ossining School District. The chapter has collected and donated 670 books to local charities and organizations so far in 2019. The DAR’s Literacy Promotion Committee, established in 1989, promotes adult literacy and involvement in literacy programs for children and adults.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Its members descend from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With more than 185,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world's largest and most active service organizations.
