Chappaqua DAR Donates 295 Books to Veterans & Families Program
Members of Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR Continue Literacy Promotion Initiatives for State Youth

(Albany, NY) Members of the Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR donated 295 books at the 123rd New York State DAR Conference to be distributed by the New York Literacy Promotion Committee to the Warrior House Veterans and Families Program in Medina, NY. The Committee will also focus on future readers by making book donations to the Agri-Business Child Development Centers in Holley, NY, and Newfane, NY. Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR has collected and donated 965 books to organizations so far in 2019. The DAR’s Literacy Promotion Committee, established in 1989, promotes adult literacy and involvement in literacy programs for children and adults.
The National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Its members descend from the patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War.
