Chappaqua DAR Marches in New Castle Memorial Day Parade

Members of Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR marched in honor the fallen and decorated community with American flags

Chappaqua, NY - The Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR was thrilled to participate in the New Castle Memorial Day parade conducted on Monday, May 27, 2019. Members of the John Jay Society, Children of the American Revolution also marched with the chapter. Participants marched in honor of those who gave their lives in service to our country and handed out 180 American Flags to community members. In all, the event was cheered on by thousands of spectators and participants which was followed by a service in Chappaqua's Memorial Plaza.

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation’s children. Its members descend from patriots who won American independence during the Revolutionary War. With 178,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the world’s largest and most active service organizations.
