Cleaner Turns in Wallet: Mount Kisco Police Blotter

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the recent incidents to which Westchester County Police have responded:

Friday, Aug. 12 – 12:50 p.m. – A village resident reported to Westchester County Police that he received a hoax phone calling claiming that a female relative had been arrested for DWI and needed bail money.

Thursday, Aug. 11 – 9:11 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a residence on North Moger Avenue to assist a woman who had injured her back. The 54-year- old woman said she had wrenched her back and was unable to move. She was taken by the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.

11:06 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a business on Lexington Avenue on an activated burglar alarm. The premises were found to be secure; the alarm apparently sounded in error.

Wednesday, Aug. 10 – 11 p.m. -- An employee of a cleaning company came to the Westchester County Police precinct on Green Street to turn in a wallet she had found while cleaning an office building on South Bedford Road. The wallet contained $1,000 in cash, multiple credit cards and personal papers. An officer was subsequently able to contact the owner of the wallet and return it.

8:15 a.m. – A resident of Carpenter Avenue reported that a group of boys rang his doorbell on several occasions and ran off when he came to the door.

Tuesday, Aug. 9 – 12:32 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to the area around Northern Westchester Hospital after a 25-year- old woman who was being brought to the hospital jumped out of her family’s car and ran off. The woman was located near CVS on South Bedford Road and was brought to her family at the hospital, where she agreed to be admitted.

4:03 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to the Mount Kisco Library on a report that a dog had been left in a car parked there. The vehicle was gone upon an officer’s arrival.

Monday, Aug. 8 – 10:53 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Lexington Avenue on a report that a man was lying in the parking area. The man, who apparently had passed out, was taken by ambulance to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.

8:57 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to a residence on Spring Street on a report of an odor of gas inside the house. The Mount Kisco Fire Department and Con Edison also responded. Con Edison determined there was no gas leak and cleared the residents to return to the home.

Sunday, Aug. 7 – 11:23 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Maple Avenue on a report that a man was looking into cars parked on the street. The man was gone upon an officer’s arrival.

5:41 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Leonard Park on a report that a man was passed out on a park bench. Officers determined that the man had simply dozed off while sitting on the bench and was not in need of any medical assistance.

11:36 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Regent Drive on a report of a dispute between neighbors. A woman reported that she was sitting in her car when her neighbor approached and began screaming at her. Officers spoke with both parties, who have an ongoing dispute, and advised them to stay away from each other. The woman was advised on how she could apply for a restraining order that would bar her neighbor from having any contact with her.
