Cops Arrest Man in Devil's Mask over Mount Kisco Burglary

A resident called the cops in the middle of the night.

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Westchester County Police arrested a Mount Kisco man on a burglary charge at 3:36 a.m. Friday after they responded to a report that someone was trying to break in to a home on Highland Avenue.

A resident called 911 after to report that someone was attempting to enter the house through a rear window. The resident said he heard someone open the window and heard the blinds rustle as the person was attempting to climb inside.

Detective Steve Fumoso and Officer Edwin Ramirez responded and located a suspect wearing a devil’s mask hiding near the rear of the home.

Kevin Canales, 21, of Maple Avenue was taken into custody and subsequently charged with Burglary 2 nd Degree, a felony, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5 th Degree, a misdemeanor. Police allege he was found in possession of an iPhone that belonged to a resident of the house.

He was arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court and released on $200 bail pending an April 6 court appearance.
